Comprehensive Priest Guide

Priests are regarded as the class with the lowest damage compared to other classes. But what they lack in power, they make up with healing and support. This is what makes priests so unique. So let us start by looking at how each stat point will increase each attribute for a priest.

Stat Distribution and Attributes

PA: Physical Attack
PD: Physical Defense
MA: Magic Attack
MR: Magic Resistance
PC: Physical Critical
MC: Magic Critical
Acc: Accuracy

As you can see, Priests will be focusing mainly on INT or SPR. I’ll go into further on which stats you should be placing points into later in this guide.

Healing

As a priest, you will begin with two magic spells (one holy and one dark spell) and a healing spell. The general formula for the amount you can heal is:

[ Sacred/Holy damage X Skill Recovery Power / 100 ] + Base HP recovery

Take for example, your Holy damage is 900. Then,

Lv5 Devotion: Basic recovery value 1000, recovery power 170.
[ 900 X 170 / 100 ] + 1000 = 2530 HP healed

Lv5 Self Regeneration: Basic recovery value 1000, recovery power 40 (each 4 secs for 55secs).
[ 900 X 40 / 100 ] = 360 Hp recovery each 4 seconds. (+1000 HP when the skill is first used AKA 0 second)

Total HP healed (after 55secs) = 1500 + (360 X 13) = 6180 HP


The Path of a Priest

Priests can follow two different paths of training: The Dark Tree or The Holy Tree.

Priests that follow the Dark Tree are known as Dark Priests and Priests that follow the Holy Tree are known as Holy Priests. After reborn is out, players may decide to become Hybrids, which would include skills from both the Dark and Holy Trees.

Note: Reborn is not yet available in Pet Forest, therefore becoming a hybrid early on will mean you won’t have enough talent points to reach one ultimate skill on either talent tree.

Sacred Light
Max level = 11
Description: Target a single enemy with a holy damage
Level 1: Attack intensity 120 (10 MP)
Level 11: Attack intensity 270 (75 MP)

Devotion
Max level = 7
Description: Heals a single target’s HP
Level 1: 300 Base Heal + 100 Skill Recovery Power (25 MP)
Level 7: 1400 Base Heal + 220 Skill Recovery Power (100 MP)

Dark Shadow
Max level = 6
Description: Targets a single enemy with dark damage and has a chance to cause DOT
Level 1: Attack intensity 120 + 60% chance for 5 HP damage every 5 seconds for a period of 20 seconds (24 MP)
Level 6: Attack intensity 190 + 100% chance for 8 HP damage every 5 seconds for a period of 25 seconds (90 MP)

Dark Tree Talents


Abyss(passive)
Max level = 8
Description: Increases Dark Magic Attack
Level 1: Increase dark magic attack by 15
Level 8: Increase dark magic attack by 80

Life(passive)
Max level = 8
Description: Increase Maximum HP
Level 1: Increase max HP by 200
Level 8: Increase max HP by 575

Shadow Trap
Max level = 6
Description: Target single enemy with DOT
Level 1: 20 dark damage every 5 seconds for a period of 35 seconds (30 MP)
Level 6: 40 dark damage every 5 seconds for a period of 45 seconds (55 MP)

Dark Devour(passive)
Max level = 7
Description: Increases Magic Critical Hit (Accuracy)
Level 1: Increase magic critical hit by 500
Level 7: Increase magic critical hit by 2500

Weakness or Weak
Max level = 7
Description: Decreases a single enemy target’s damage and critical hit
Level 1: Decrease single enemy target’s damage by 15% and critical hit by 30 for a period of 25 seconds (40 MP)
Level 7: Decrease single enemy target’s damage by 30% and critical hit by 100 for a period of 35 seconds (85 MP)

Grief Indulgence
Max level = 6
Description: Target a single enemy with dark damage and causing DOT
Level 1: Attack intensity 140 and causing 35 dark damage every 5 seconds for a period of 25 seconds (60 MP)
Level 1: Attack intensity 190 and causing 45 dark damage every 5 seconds for a period of 35 seconds (85 MP)

Slow or Slowness
Max level = 6
Description: Decreases a single enemy target’s action speed (9 second cooldown)
Level 1: Decrease a single enemy target’s action speed by 60 for 17 seconds (60 MP)
Level 6: Decrease a single enemy target’s action speed by 100 for 32 seconds (80 MP)

Nightmare(passive)
Max level = 5
Description: Increases dark damage by %
Level 1: Increases dark damage by 2%
Level 5: Increases dark damage by 9%

Link of Terror
Max level = 4
Description: Target enemy party with dark damage and causing DOT (15 second cooldown)
Level 1: Attack intensity 240, lvl10 dark damage every 5 seconds for 30 seconds (140 MP)
Level 4: Attack intensity 310, lvl10 dark damage every 5 seconds for 30 seconds (200 MP)

Chaos
Max level = 4
Description: Decreases enemy party’s damage by % and critical hit for a period of 20 seconds (25 second cooldown)
Level 1: Decreases enemy party’s damage by 30% and critical hit by 150 for 20 seconds (140 MP)
Level 1: Decreases enemy party’s damage by 50% and critical hit by 320 for 20 seconds (200 MP)

Holy Tree Talents



Bless(passive)
Max level = 6
Description: Increases maximum HP and MP
Level 1: Increase maximum HP by 200 and maximum MP by 130
Level 1: Increase maximum HP by 500 and maximum MP by 300

Mental Brilliance or Theosophic Glory(passive)
Max level = 4
Description: Increases holy damage
Level 1: Increase holy damage by 10
Level 1: Increase holy damage by 70

Holy Protection(passive)
Max level = 6
Description: Increase physical defense and magic resistance
Level 1: Increase physical defense and magic resistance by 18
Level 6: Increase physical defense and magic resistance by 90

Self-regeneration
Max level = 6
Description: Recovers a single target’s HP and heals a small amount of HP over time (9 second cooldown)
Level 1: Recovers 200 HP + 20 Base Heal every 4 seconds for 45 seconds (28 MP)
Level 6: Recovers 1500 HP + 50 Base Heal every 4 seconds for 55 seconds (64 MP)

Divine Touch or Power of God’s Touch
Max level = 7
Description: Heals a single target’s HP
Level 1: Skill recovery power 320 (42 MP)
Level 7: Skill recovery power 470 (100 MP)

Divine Calm or God’s Comfort
Max level = 7
Description: Chance to remove an enemy’s negative buff from a party member
Level 1: 30% chance to remove enemy’s negative buff from a party member (40 MP)
Level 1: 100% chance to remove enemy’s negative buff from a party member (50 MP)

Oracle Protection
Max level = 6
Description: Enemy target will not attack you
Level 1: 60% Chance enemy will not target you for 20 seconds (56 MP)
Level 1: 100% Chance enemy will not target you for 30 seconds (92 MP)

Sacred Seal or Holy Seal
Max level = 6
Description: Increases a single target’s physical and magical attack but decreases physical defense and magic resistance
Level 1: Increase a single target’s physical and magical attack power by 20% and decreases target's physical def and magical resistence by 100 for 25 seconds (60 MP)
Level 6: Increase a single target’s physical and magical attack power by 50% and decreases target's physical def and magical resistence by 200 for 25 seconds (80 MP)

Revive or Resurrection
Max level = 4
Description: Chance to resurrect a dead party member or pet and restore a portion of their HP
Level 1: 50% chance to resurrect the target and restore their HP by 20% (100 MP)
Level 1: 100% chance to resurrect the target and restore their HP by 40% (220 MP)


Holy Blessing
Max level = 4
Description: Heals a portion of all party member’s HP
Level 1: Skill recovery 160 (180 MP)
Level 4: Skill recovery 320 (300 MP)

Holy War
Max level = 4
Description: Increases all party member’s physical and magical attack but decreases physical defense and magic resistance
Level 1: Increases all party member’s physical and magical attack power by 20% and decreases target's physical def and magical resistence by 100 for 15 seconds (140 MP)
Level 4: Increases all party member’s physical and magical attack power by 30% and decreases target's physical def and magical resistence by 50 for 18 seconds (200 MP)

Priest Builds

Dark Priest

Attack Build:

Dark priests are known to be battle priests because of this build. This build focuses on the Damage over Time (DOT spells of the Dark Tree). These skills include: Abyss, Shadow Trap, Dark Devour, Grief Indulgence, Nightmare, Link of Terror. Unlike their Holy counterparts, Dark Priests spells do not have much power but compensate for that by damaging the enemy little by little over a period of time.

Anti-Buff Build:

The Dark counterpart to a Holy Priest’s Buff Build, the Dark Priest’s Anti-Buff build focuses weakening the enemy’s attack power. These skills include: Life, Shadow Trap, Weakness, Slow, Nightmare, Chaos. Not many regard this build to be useful because at lower levels, there is really no use for anti-buffing weak monsters. However, when combined with other builds at higher levels and after reborn is released, it shows potential. By slowing the enemy’s action speed, you can get your spell to hit first, which is important in this Turn based game. Add on the effects of decreasing enemy damage by % and critical hit means they can well be a force to reckon with in PvP.

Stat Allocation:

People becoming dark priests, plan to become battle priests. As such, they will focus on the Attack Build. Due to the spell Dark Devour increasing Magic Criticals, Dark Priests are better off prioritizing their points into SPR to better increase their magic criticals. Because Dark Priest prioritizing SPR will have a lower magic damage compared to INT holy priests, they use SPR to increase their chances to land Critical Hits to substitute the decrease in damage. SPR will also have the additive effect of increasing magic resistance, which would better reduce magic damage along with the dark spell Chaos.

After Reborn, you may want to become a Full Dark Priest (or Battle Priest). This would mean you are focusing on getting both attack and anti-buff builds.

Holy Priest

Heal Support Build:

This is what makes priest who they really are. Healing is the only skill bestowed upon priests, making them unique to other classes. This build focuses on survival for the individual as well as the party. These skills include: Bless, Self Regeneration, Divine Touch, Oracle Protection, Revive, Holy Blessing. This build has no attack spells whatsoever. Its main focus is to heal. What makes this build so popular among priests, is the spell Oracle Protection, which protects the priest from all harm (except a dark priest’s DOT spell) for a period of time and Holy Blessing, which heals the entire party’s HP.

Buff Support Build:

The counterpart of a Dark Priest’s Anti-Buff Build. This build focuses on enhancing the individual’s or the party’s attack power (physical and magic) at the cost of reducing physical defense and magic resistance. Sounds bad to reduce defenses, but remember this build also has some healing spells which can compensate for the increase damage taken. These skills include: Holy Protection, Self Regeneration, Divine Calm, Sacred Seal, Revive, Holy War. Self Regeneration is a particularly unique healing spell in that it will Heal over Time (HOT), the opposite effect of DOT. This is especially useful for the reduced defense from Buffing. This build is also useful at higher levels when enemy defenses become increasingly high and the need for extra power to overcome it.

Stat Allocation:

Because heal is based on the priest’s holy damage and holy damage increases as INT increases, Holy Priests prioritize allocating points into INT. SPR may be useful for a more balanced type priest, but for those who want to maximize healing power, INT is a priority. Although, INT holy priests do not have as high a magic resist as Dark Priests, they are better able to survive due to their healing spells. Due to the lack of magic resist, INT based holy priests can use Life gear and a SPR based possession pet to increase their magic resistance.

After Reborn, you may want to become a Full Holy Priest (or Full Support Priest). This would mean you are focusing on getting both healing and buff support builds


Hybrid Priest

**Note: As stated before, it is not advisable to begin off as a hybrid priest. Hybrid priests will become available after Reborn is implemented and you may focus on two different builds.

There are many different possible Hybrid Builds, so I will not be going over this. However, it will be your preference on what skills you are interested in. Hybrid priests do not necessarily mean getting two “full” builds from different talent trees. You can focus on getting one “full” build, then half of another build and half of another.
